Sparrow’s Flagship Store
Awarded Best Retail Design by American Society of Interior Designers
The Sparrow family asked BCD for a flagship store to sell their premium-quality snacks in a tight site next to a public parking lot. The new structure not only houses a full array of functions (including commercial / demonstration kitchen, ADA bathrooms, trash area, and outdoor movie and event space) on limited square footage, but also created an engaging, unforgettable, one-of-a-kind brand experience.
At the entrance is a 30-foot, custom Coop Forge marquee spanning the building and (new) patio, to create the illusion of a double-wide building.
We removed separation of indoor and outdoor by installing a large steel beam and a minimalist sliding glass door system that when opened disappears completely. Beneath the scenes are large underground chambers below a permeable paving system to manage, capture, redirect stormwater.
Indoors are more custom Coop Forge fixtures and furniture, including a 40-foot curved shelving system, front desk, entry display table kitchen details, and patio branded fencing and brackets.
